EGG - The egg is creamy white in colour when freshly laid, round in shape with a smooth surface typical of the Papilionidae family. It measures about 1.0mm in diameter. It is laid singly on the underside of leaves of its host plants. 

CATERPILLAR/LARVA - The larva will stay on top of leaf until it is time to pupate. It may be green or brownish to blend with its host plants. It grows up to 5 cm in length.

CHRYSALIS/PUPA - The larva will pupate on the underside of leaf attached by a cremaster (cluster of hooks) at the end of its abdomen. The pupa is greenish in colour and the adult will emerge in about 13 days during the summer months.

ADULT - It is a strong flyer but feeds readily on flowers. Male and female are alike except the female seems to have longer tails.

STATUS - very common.

WING SPAN - approximately 7.0 cm to 8.0 cm

FLIGHT PERIOD/ TIME OF YEAR - March to November
