EGG - Egg is creamy white when freshly laid singly on the tip or underside of the young foliage of its host plant. It measures about 1.1 mm in diameter and the larva will hatch in about 6 days.

CATERPILLAR / LARVA - larva will rest on a silk pad spun on top of leaf. It measures from 3mm to 5cm. The larval stage will take about 46 days to complete.

CHRYSALIS / PUPA - The larva will pupate on leaf stalk or twig attached by a cremaster at the end of its abdomen. The pupa can be green or brownish in colour to blend with the surrounding. It measures about 3.5 cm and takes approximately 17 days for the adult to emerge.

ADULT - it is one of the most beautiful butterflies in Hong Kong and can be commonly seen feeding on nearby flowering trees. It is famed for its 2 iridescent blue spots on its upper hindwings. The author seems to name the butterfly from the colour !¢DParis blue!|.

LOCATION SIGHTED - throughout Hong Kong.

STATUS - very common.

WING SPAN - 8.0-10.0 cm.
