New species to Hong Kong (1999)
So far in
1999, two butterfly species have been added to the Hong Kong list.
Details are as follows:-
Pithecops corvus (Fruhstorfer) [Lycaenidae: Polyommatinae], no known common name (?); taken by J.J.Young on 24 July 1999 at Tai Po Kau, Tai Po, Hong Kong
Euthalia monina (Fabricius) [Nymphalidae: Limenitidinae] - common name ? - observed by J.J.Young and Y.Kwok on 25 July 1999 at Po Lo Che, Hong Kong - "The butterfly settled just 3 feet from myself and Yvonne. No photograph was taken." (J.J.Young)
