HKLS MEETINGS

HKLS's next committee meeting is scheduled for 1 March 2008 (3:00pm)
and will be held at Unit B, 17/F Kin Ga Industrial Building, 9 San On Street, Tuen Mun, N.T. (Please note that the monthly meeting will be held on every first week Saturday of each 2 months).


COMING WORKSHOPS & FIELD TRIPS

The themes for the forthcoming workshops and field trips are:

January 2006 - December 2007 (2 years)

FUNG YUEN SSSI Butterflies Survey

HKLS will be carrying out monthly butterfly survey at Fung Yuen for Tai Po Environmental Assoication. The survey will start on the 14th January and will carry out every Saturday on the second week of each month. If the survey falls on a public holiday, it will carry over to the next following week.  The survey team will consist of at least three members and if any member wishes to participate, please contact Dr. P. C. Lee (23613879/94286029). The team will depart from Dr. Lee's office at noon time or meet at the entrance of Fung Yuen at 1:00pm.

Butterflies Guides for GreenPower's BUTTERFLY EXPLORER

HKLS will be assisting GreenPower in various butterfly watching activities. HKLS will attend during the following:
        9 Apr 06 (4 members),
        23 Apr 06 (4 members),
        14 May 06 (2 members). If any member is interested in participate, do contact Yiu Vor or  Dr.Lee;

N.B. Members who wish to join the above activities must confirm with the group/course leader 3 days in advance (Hong Kong trips only). Please also note that there must be at least 5 participants in order for any field trips/ seminars to go ahead.

June 17th - 18th

Butterfly Talk on Rearing Immature Stages and Field Trip by James Young :-

1)  to give a brief in sight of his experience on rearing immature stages  and to discuss several issues  for consideration with the intended forthcoming HKLS publication on immature stages; and

2) to follow by a field trip to locate several rarer species.

The venue will be held in Dr. Lee's office on 17th June at 2:30pm and the details of the field trip on 18th June will be set at the meeting. This is for HKLS members only and there is a limited space in Dr. Lee's office. Do notify Dr. Lee or James Young if you want to attend.

  • Easter hoilday butterfly watching [Hainan, China]
There is will an oversea butterfly watching trip for 5 days (14 - 18/4) during the Easter holidays. The trip is organised by Dr. Lee, Lego and Henry.
